I am now an Intern!

So yesterdays post was about our intern at Groupable
(not live yet), Nelson. Since we’ve been self-financing the company and essentially paying to work - I think I am going to take a new title.

So from now on my title is Intern. I figure it beats being Chief Bootstrapper. It’s more authentic. Think about it, all of us entrepreneurs out there are our own interns! So remember - the password to the copier is ABC123.

Interns

So I wanted to send a public Shout Out and Thank you to our Intern (AKA: Assistant Director of Marketing) at Groupable, Nelson. He has been a huge help in helping provide some fresh perspective as we’re gearing up to launch. While not live yet, Groupable will be a marketplace connecting Groups & Sponsors - monetizing the original bastion of social networking - groups. Nelson has not just helped us redo the business plan and complete some of the fundamental research, he’s had some great insight into developing the brand and company. I am thankful for finding him and having him on our team.

Lesson: Never underestimate interns. Good people are good people, regardless of where they start.

Interns!

So I want to publicly thank my intern, Adam Greenes today. It’s his last day and he was incredible. He has been instrumental doing key research for my stealth startup. He did an amazing job and deserves a public applause. Thanks Rob for sending him my way!

Interns can be very valuable since they are usually uncorrupted minds that will listen to you and do what you ask. Yes, they can do cold prospecting, research and other such tasks that you may loathe but are critical to success of any company. However, most people waste these great young minds fetching coffee and stapling shit. Go fetch your own coffee and give your intern something real to do!
