The 8th presenter at the BootStrapper Venture Summit was RMBRme.com.
RMBRme is run by a friend of mine Gabe. Gabe used to run conferences for CMP and already has a successful exit. Rmbrme replaces business cards by allowing for the simple and easy virtual sending of contact information via mobile phones. This is something your carrier should have offered or plaxo or linkedin should offer but they don’t.
I think RMBRme will be a huge success.

So I’ve used vistaprint on and off for 8 years. I had my first cards done with them at my first startup. They were an odd shape and kinda crappy. For a while I migrated over to some other sites but I needed to print up some bootstrapper cards since I’m launching it and I have a press pass for richmondevents.com cruise this week (woohoo - free $22,000 cruise!) and ya know what, they look great - but I have a typo in my cards. So next time we get together, yes you will get a card with a typo. Why? Because I’m not printing out another 1000 cards until i’ve given all of these away or eaten them, whichever comes first.
I was at a conference all week and today didn’t bring any business cards. I guess I didn’t expect to meet anyone so I didn’t give anyone cards today. Now I’m going to take a step back…
I got an email today from someone saying nice play until you went card dead. Now being that I was at a conference, I thought he was referring to my lack of business cards. Then I realized something … before you respond to emails it’s always good to remember who you are writing to - so i thought back for a second and realized, I’m an idiot.
See, I met him playing cards, not over business cards and card dead referred to me going from chip leader to loser (went an hour without hitting a single friggin hand!).
See confusion often happens when you meet people when you were drinking … and drinking henessey doesn’t help either.
So whats the lesson here? Don’t drink heavily when you play cards if you want to win!
