Q: What is BootStrapping exactly?
A:
Boot Strapping is the art of building a company using sweat equity and intelligence rather than raising large amounts of capital and overspending. A Boot Strapped business is a business built on the back of its founder. We like giving those founders a hand and removing some of the weight from their backs through the Boot Strapper Way .

Q: What is the BootStrapper Way ?
A:
The BootStrapper Way is our approach towards helping people. Many good products fail because of inadequate capital or poor capital utilization. We specialize in figuring out how to do more for less. We are experts in developing low cost high impact web development and marketing strategies. You will never hear us recommend spending $10,000,000 on a technology or spending $20,000,000 on a national Television ad campaign. Our strategy is to build and not buy our way to success. The hare may have a faster lifestyle but the tortoise always wins. We choose to be the tortoise and not overpay for anything.

Q: Who are you?
A:
The BootStrapper Group was founded by Richard Hecker, serial entrepreneur. When he was just fifteen years old, Richard founded his first company, ClickZen Worldwide from his bedroom and his AOL email account. He turned $800 he borrowed from his father into a multi-million dollar business with a plush office in downtown Manhattan . However, he was most proud of the fact that he had a college intern work for him when he was in High School. All joking aside, Richard created an outsourcing division out of ClickZen that soon took on a life of its own. He then split it off and formed a new company, ZenFinancial.com, which is credited with pioneering Mortgage Lead generation in India . ZenFinancial specialized in call center outsourcing, specifically of outbound telemarketing for the financial services industry. After running the company successfully for two years, he sold it and took some time off. During this break, Richard finished up his degree in Finance and shot an independent TV pilot. Then one day, he became bored and decided to harness his skills at bootstrapping to help others be successful. However, his dirty little BootStrapper secret is that he paid $1200 for the domain, bootstrapper.com

Q: Is this “Group” only one person?
A:
Nope. Though it started out with just Richard a few months ago, the Group has expanded to include an additional principal consultant and an office in San Francisco along with a number of highly skilled project consultants. The other principal consultant is Noreen Sullivan, known as the Queen of Social Media, having worked at Disney, Friendster, Tribe and eGroups in various management capacities. The other executives and entrepreneurs in the Group come from a diverse background in technology, operations, marketing & business development.

Q: How can we find out more about the consultants?
A:
Please check our Consultants page for bios on everyone involved.

Q: Why is this entire site in question an answer form?
A:
The BootStrapper Group has determined through extensive testing and research that the most effective way to teach an audience about a product is to answer their questions prior to them asking rather than inundating people with information. In fact, one of our specialties is creating short and efficient training systems based around our Q&A philosophy.

Q: How much do you charge for your services?
A:
We charge our clients on a case by case basis. Sometimes it is hourly, a monthly fee, profit sharing or equity. Usually it is some combination of the above. We also have special discount for Not for Profit's.
