Parallel Processing with People
Parallel processing is the act of working on more than one thing at once. Often times, in our industry, we can work on a dozen projects at a time. Now should you work with the same person on a dozen things? No. because then nothing will get done most likely, you’ll have too many distractions. Ideally you won’t work on more than 1 thing with a person. Unless you work with someone on something for your day job and then something with them at night. Sometimes, this could be a great tool to get more out of your relationship during the day. Say you’re selling something to the person and you end up working on a fun side project with them at night, maybe they’ll give you a much bigger buy if you play your cards right? But you should not work on multiple side projects with the same person. It is the quickest way to fail.
Ideally you shouldn’t be working on more than one thing at a time yourself. There is no better motivator for success then putting all your eggs in one basket and focusing on it. Very rarely can one
